All three locations are a 15 minute walk from the Utrecht Centraal train/bus/tram station. The Neude bus stop is 5 minuten lopen. Walking from BAK to ACU, and ACU to Moira is around 4 minuts, and from BAK to Moira around 7-8 minuts.
Auto
Parking on the street is paid. There are several parking garages and P+Rs close by. Please check the Gemeente Utrecht website for more information.
Prices / tickets
We ask for a sliding-scale donation of between €5 and €15 for the festival, but people who cannot afford this are of course also welcome to attend for free. Tickets for the festival are available at the information stand. There is no advance ticket sales. 2.Dh5 will never refuse anyone entry due to a lack of funds.
You can donate with a QR code, but if you bring cash, that’s even better! This also applies to lunch, dinner, drinks, and the stands (see below). Food & drinks
We are working with Barricade, Le Sabot, and volunteers, who will serve a vegan lunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday. Dinner is on a donation basis.
Please contact us if you have any special dietary requirements.
Coffee/tea will be available on both days for a small donation; the bar/café in the main hall, which is separate from the festival and open on weekdays throughout the year for the Ru Pare community, will also be open on both festival days to sell beer, wine, and carbonated drinks.
There are ATMs approximately 200 meters from both BAK and ACU.
Staying overnight
This year, there are a very limited number of beds available. We recommend asking comrades and friends, but if you are coming from far away and have no other options, please contact us at slaapplek@2dh5.nl. We will do our best to help.
COVID
Please help us minimize the risk of Covid and other contagious virus/bacteria by staying home if you have cold or flu-like symptoms. Moira Expo is part of the Mask bloc, which means they have FFP2 masks available. We will also provide these at the Infotables at ACU and Basecamp. The Main Hall at Basecamp and the ACU Venue are ventilated, and for all other spaces we aim to provide fan and window ventilation throughout the festival. provides adequate ventilation during crowded moments, and we strive to actively air out all other spaces used at the festival.
This means that, as a self-organized grassroots festival, each of us takes personal responsibility for the health and safety of those around us. For our part, we have drawn up a number of guidelines to facilitate this.
To participate in the 2.Dh5 festival, we ask that:
- If you are not feeling 100%, please do a self-test before arriving at the festival, even if you are fully vaccinated and boosted.
- If you have symptoms related to COVID, we ask you to stay at home.
- If you feel comfortable wearing a mask (preferably FFP2), please do so.
- Respect each other’s personal space and avoid physical contact with people outside your social circle;
- Keep hygiene measures in mind, wash your hands, cough into your elbow, etc.;
- Actively remind your friends and comrades of these points when necessary;
To make 2.Dh5 as safe and accessible as possible, we will:
- Provide sanitary facilities for regular hand washing;
- Provide masks at the entrance/information desk;
- Ensure adequate ventilation in all areas.
- Keep the maximum number of people per session/workshop low, so that there is more personal space.
- Ensure stricter measures per workshop, in consultation with the workshop organizers.
Accessibility and mobility
BAK Basecamp
The entrance to Basecamp is on a cobblestone sidewalk off of Pauwstraat and is step-free. There is a ramp to the first set of entrance doors, and a ramp through the second set of doors into the main building space. The entrance doors are 210 cm wide.
There are three gender-neutral bathrooms. The wheelchair accessible bathroom is immediately to your left upon entering the space. There are two other bathrooms, each with 4 stalls that are not large enough for mobility devices and that do not have handrails. The sinks in the two non-accessible bathrooms are 73 cm tall and 45 cm wide.
On your right at the end of the entrance hall is the Auditorium which is accessible via a ramp to a double door entrance. This door is 150 cm wide.
The Mezzanine area is accessible via stairs immediately to the right of the Auditorium entrance, or via elevator located in the back right corner of the main hall. The elevator entrance is 89 cm wide. There are 15 stairs up to the Mezzanine which are made of partially see-through metal grates: the stairs are 95 cm wide, with an 18 cm rise and a 90 cm tall, 1.5 cm wide glass handrail.
The Library is accessible via stairs from the Mezzanine, immediately to the right of the stairs from the ground floor. There are 9 stairs up to the Library which are made of partially see-through metal grates: the stairs are 95 cm wide, with an 18 cm rise and a 90 cm tall, 1.5 cm wide glass handrail. From the landing at the top of the staircase there is one 18 cm step on to the library level, through a 95 cm wide doorway. The library is not wheelchair or mobility accessible; if there is an event in the Library that you would like to attend, let us know in advance to see if we can provide adequate accommodation.
The Main Hall at Basecamp has level flooring and will be the main space for the stands during the festival. As such, this will be a noise and interaction heavy space throughout the festival; we do provide a dedicated Low Stim Space at ACU, a 10 minute walk from the Basecamp location, which will be open throughout the festival.
A 110 cm tall bar is immediately to your right on entering the main hall, which leads to a kitchen area accessible via ramp (the back kitchen area will be closed during the festival). Next to the bar and kitchen entrance is the Studio entrance, which is to the right upon entering the Main Hall. The Studio is accessible via ramp and a 160 cm wide door. Next to the Studio entrance in the Main Hall you will also find the elevator with access to the Mezzanine level.
Moira Expo
Entrance: The entrance to Moira is on a cobblestone sidewalk off of Wolvenstraat and is not step-free. There are two, 4 cm steps within the automated entrance door, which is 112 cm wide. There is a 7 cm step within the door to Moira Expo, and this door is 87 cm wide.
Toilet: There is one small gender-neutral bathroom in the space that you enter via a 71 cm wide door with a 2.5 cm step down into the washroom that has a 90 cm high sink. There is a 71 cm wide door with a 3 cm tall threshold that leads into the toilet room, which is 105 cm wide and 120 cm long. The toilet is 40 cm high and there are no handrails in either the washroom or the toilet room.
The space is not wheelchair accessible, but we are working to make our events more accessible in the future. If the entrance is possible for you but not the toilet, the nearest accessible toilet is next door at Apotheek Koerst at Asche van Wijkcskade 30 (during working hours).
The Expo space is one large room divided halfway into two smaller spaces. The entrance leads into the first space which includes a zine library and various furniture and materials stored for activities. The second space behind the wall has diverse chairs with backs and armrests, a big, comfy couch, blankets, and pillows. The overhead lighting is strong but there are other lighting options with lamps. There is a kitchenette behind a bar with an open entrance of 90 cm width and a counter of 90 cm height.
ACU
In the section below, some measurements are still missing. We are working hard to update this information as soon as possible.

Cafe: The cafe/bar area is where we will host some events in the program. There are tables and chairs throughout, and you must go through the Cafe to enter the venue and to access the toilets and low stimulation space in the back of the building. There is a bar of XX cm to the left after you enter, follow along this bar to access the Venue, toilets and Low Stim space.
Toilets: The toilets can be reached through a long corridor which needs a turn from the bar area to get there. There is one room with two toilets cubicles and one room with one toilet cubicle and urinal. There is no wheelchair accessible toilet, but one of the rooms is large enough to store a wheelchair outside the cubicle. There are no wall handles. The entrances to all toilet cubicles is XX cm wide, and each cubicle is XX by XX long. The sinks in the washroom are XX cm tall.
Venue: The Venue is reached through two heavy double doors from the Cafe area as well as two heavy double doors in the hallway with the toilets. During the festival the main entrance doors will be closed to close off noise from the Cafe once sessions have started, and instead you can access the Venue space via the hallway doors if you arrive late. To enter the Venue from the Cafe you enter the XX cm double doors, turn and enter another set of doors that are XX cm wide. There are 7 stairs leading down to the floor of the venue that are X wide, and XX cm rise. There is no hand rail. The side double doors are XX cm wide and immediately step down into the venue via X stairs that are XX cm wide with a XX cm rise. in the Cafe area Queer Arcana uses wooden ‘beer tables’ and benches which are set up on the sunken floor and the stage of the venue. There are no stairs to reach the stage from the venue floor, but the table at the stage can be reached through the corridor and backstage if needed. This route has no thresholds.
Low Stim Space: The toilets can be reached through a long corridor which needs a turn from the bar area to get there. The room is at the end of the hall on the right side.
Childcare
We welcome children in both the children’s and main program. There are baby changing facilities in the wheelchair accessible bathroom next to the entrance at Basecamp. There are no baby changing facilities at Moira or ACU. There is no designated lactation room in any of the festival venues, however, if you are nursing please check in with organizers at the Infostand so we can ensure access to a private area during your time at the festival. The events in the children’s program will take place in the Mezzanine area.
Conflict & Awareness Phone
In situations of conflict, we prioritize resolution within the community with support by members who are skilled in this process. We do not engage with the police and they are not welcome at the festival. When conflicts arise, or an individual needs to be asked to leave, please notify a festival organizer via the Infostand or the Awareness phone so we can facilitate this process. You can also notify the Awareness phone if:
Service animals
Service animals are welcomed into all of the festival venues and accommodated.
Verder
Please contact us directly at info@2dh5.nl to coordinate specific forms of assistance and support in advance.
Out of consideration for our visitors with multiple chemical sensitivities and autoimmune diseases, we kindly ask you not to wear heavy perfumes or chemical scents during your visit to the festival.
We have several areas in the building where you can take a break and relax; we also have a low-sensory-stimulus room in a quiet part of the building—check the map when you arrive for the exact location.
Service dogs, support animals, and companions are all welcome, with full consideration given to individual allergies. We ask that you keep your dog close to you to prevent other visitors from feeling unsafe.
Please also be considerate of our youngest comrades and their parents or caregivers; we have a separate children’s program/area.
Language
We do our best to maintain a balance between Dutch and English. However, this year, 70 percent of the sessions will be in English.
The language of each workshop corresponds to the language in which the workshop is announced in the program.
For each workshop, we organize a whisper translation corner NL->EN or EN->NL for those who do not speak English or Dutch.
Press, own- & social media
The activities during the festival are not freely accessible to journalists. We ask anybody who would like to make recordings – text, audio, or video – to go to the 2.Dh5 info booth by the entrance for details. Any complains about press conduct can be brought to the info booth as well. Please also refrain from tagging individuals or posting images where individuals can be identified.
Other needs
In an ideal world 2.Dh5 would be fully accessible to everyone. Sadly this is not possible due to our limited funds, and the limitations of the venue. Nonetheless, if you have any specific access needs, please don’t hesitate to get in touch via info@2dh5.nl and we will do our best to come to a suitable arrangement.
Also if you have any other questions concerning accessibility at 2.Dh5, or if you have any comments or tips, we’d love to hear from you.
